Don't know if this will help, but here it is anyway. My wife's grgrandmother was Caroline Bauer. She was born in Bavaria in 1844 & died in Illinois in 1937. Family lived around Alton, IL, which is close to us here in St. Louis. Caroline married Bernard Hellrung who was from Prussia. By 1885 they were in Alton. That's where my wife's grandmother (Mary Hellrung) was born. Don't know anything else - but I'd like to if you see any links. Good luck.
