The following obituary is from the Charlotte (NC) Observer, Sunday April 1, 2007. A picture of Mrs. Plummer accompanied the original obituary in the paper.

Mary Baucom Plummer 'Lizzie'
Mrs. Plummer, 76 of Charlotte died Friday, March 30, 2007 in the Harris Hospice Unit of Presbyterian Hospital.
Born in Matthews on August 13, 1930, Mary was the daughter of the late James Nathaniel Baucom and Lucy Jane Holtzclaw Baucom. Lizzie, as she was affectionately referred to by her family, graduated from Tech High School in 1948 and prior to retiring had been employed by Bell-South. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, Bellsouth Volunteers and Hunter Acres Baptist Church. Mary 'Miss Daisy' as one of her grandchildren called her, was loved and cherished by her daughters, grandchildren, family and friends. Mrs. Plummer was preceded in death by her husband Robert Zeph Plummer, who passed away in 2001, a brother Jesse Baucom and sisters Hazel Hawks and Norma Starnes.
Survivors include her daughters, Donna Martin and husband Bill, Mary Anne Plummer and Rick Garvin, Carol Helms and Bobbie McWilliams; grandchildren, Billy, James, Shawn and Mary Catherine Martin, Jeremiah Plummer and girlfriend Sandy Smith, Beth and Emily Plummer, Steve Gulledge, Heather Helms and boyfriend Justin Sychla, Jackie McWilliams and husband Mike Hedspeth; brothers, David, James 'Short' and Joe Baucom; sisters, Helen Baucom, Elma Austin and Freida Rivers.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 2, 2007 at 1:00 PM at the Hunter Acres Baptist Church, 4520 Herman Dr., Charlotte with Reverends Donald Newell and Buddy Thomas officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church today, Sunday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM.
A special thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff at Presbyterian Hospital for the care and compassion and to her friends and church family for their love, prayers and support.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorials be made to Presbyterian Hospice, c/o Presbyterian Hospital Foundation, POB 33549, Charlotte, NC, 28254-3672, or to Hunter Acres Baptist Church, 4520 Herman Dr., Charlotte, NC, 28269.
Carolina Funeral Service & Cremation Center is entrusted with the arrangements
