Origins of Baucom
Posted by: Jason L. Baucom (ID *****8906) Date: January 30, 2005 at 14:10:15

I was wondering if anybody has any information on the origins of the Baucom surname. I believe mine goes back to Johann Baucom who was married to Susannah Vandergrift, and that his father was Otto von Bakum, from Germany.
So did the Baucom (Bakum) come to America directly from Germany? I was under the impression that some Baucoms came from England.
My great Grandfathers were Alfred Lee, link provided is his wedding pic

, his father George Wilson (Civil War vet), his father Henry Millard, his father Lewis, then John, then Nicholas then Johann.
If anybody is related to this line and has any info, (origins, War vets, etc,) let me know. Thanks for any info.
