Hey Mandy!
The ABC television show "The View" aired a segment today about Star Jones' family tree. I was surprised to learn that her ancestors were from my hometown of Anson County, NC. One of her ancestors was George Baucom. They discussed on the show that at one time her line of Baucoms were called black and later on they were called malloto (half black, half white). This was all very interesting to me, because I have just recently begun to research not only my family history, but my husband's also. My husband (who is white) has a Baucom line also. His great-great grandmother was Minerva Baucom (b. abt 1852) daughter of Willis? Baucom. I'm pretty sure they're both from Anson County, NC. This is as far as I have gotten on the Baucom line, but I too am interested in finding out more. Let me know if any of this has helped you or if you find any more interesting information on the Baucoms!
