Isaac Batz married 1862 Rebecca Neiswender
I have a family bible in German dated 1846 for William and Hannah Gauvey that appears to have been passed down through his daughter, Rebecca (Neiswender) Batz, who married Isaac Batz in 1862.These Nieswenders (various spellings in census returns) were primarily living in Bethel Twp, Berks Co, PA, though it appears later ones went to Lebanon & Myerstown, Lebanon Co, PA.Anyone who would like copies of the pages or a transcription feel free to inquire.Isaac Batz's father and mother are George and Sarah. This is really a Neiswender family bible and there are no Batz entries.Just a couple calling cards that led to the discovery of Rebecca's marriage to Isaac Batz.
Basic info as follows:
This is an 1846 bible in German, I think.I don't read German so it could be Swiss, but looks German.I could read most of the names/entries and traced the family through census returns on Ancestry.com.I have some female Niswongers/Nicewangers who married into my Schweitzer or Eisenbach lines. Can't remember offhand and I've lost my computer info due to comp crash.Anyhow, willing to share what I can as far as scanning and research.I'm sure I'm missing some things as some of the names I couldn't read, but I've got a pretty clear picture of most of his (Martin's) siblings and many of the descendants of William and Hannah.According to the bible Martin Nieswender was born 14 Nov 1831 in Bethel, Berks, PA.I didn't see very many death dates in the bible and Martin's I don't believe is in there.Whole bunch of birthdates.William his dad was born 20 Jan 1809 in PA and Hannah was born 19 Dec 1808 in PA.I have Bethel, PA, but I don't know if it specified that.Martin's brothers and sisters were William, b. 4 Jun 1827; Lidia Lydia b. 15 Apr 1830; Elisabeth b. 12 Dec 1833; Johannah or Hannah b. 3 Oct 1835; John b. 7 Oct 1837; William b. 30 Dec 1839; Ephraim b. 8 Jul 1842; Rebecca b. 10 Mar 1844; Josiah 14 Dec 1845; Lucetta Lucinda b. 9 Oct 1847; Delilah b. 10 Jul 1849; Ann b. 22 Sep 1851; Jefferson b. 1855.Actually I'm not sure whose child Jefferson is.I don't think he's listed in bible and it appears he was adopted in looking at census records.
