According to "Albemarle Parish Reg., Surry/Sussex Co., Va"
Colonial Dames edition -
Nanny Battle, d. of John Battle, Jr. and w. Sarah, b. Dec. 27, 1754, c. Mar. 9, 1755.
Godparents; Thos. Capel, Anne Evans, Eliza Felts.

John Battle, s. of John Battle and w. Sarah, b. July 25, c. Aug. 26., 1753.
Godparents; James Carter, Wm Hern, Jane Seat.

From this I believe, Nancy is the sister of John Walker Battle. Granted that John Battle, father of these two had a wife, Sarah Browne, who could have been confued with the other Sarah Capel. John Battle spouse of Sarah Browne d. Apr. 30, 1740 in Bertie Co, N.C. so he could not have been this father. Also, this family as from Isle of Wight Co. Va. The second family lived in Surry Co., VA. Of course they may have lived in the same area but the records are in different counties. Hope this helps.
B. J.
