I also have some members of the Battle family who settled in NY. My ancestor Adella Battle was born in the mid 1820's in Quebec. Her parents John and Julia Battle were born in Ireland. I know there was at least one other daughter named Julia. Adella Battle moved to Albany, NY and married John Corscadden. Does this sound like it may be a connection? Sean Roche
