Dear Lauren, Having same problem as you, however I have names of about 70 Battles who settled in central Michigan near Mt Pleasant, including my g.g.gd-father. He came from somewhere in Ireland, which hopefully I can research there, although I need a starting point. Most Battles seem to be from Mayo or Sligo.
