Hello Cousin.I also descend from John and Matilda through their youngest Alfred.John and Matilda's Quaker marriage certificate hangs in the Territorial Pioneers cabin on the MN fairgrounds. The line back from John goes Richard, Richard, Richard, John - who came from Ardington, Berkshire to Chester Co. PA.To verify try my Battin Family genealogy on film with the LDS or the Quaker MM records.
The first Richard listed above married Ann Cook whose mother was Charity Wright Cook considered one of the mothers of feminism and a noted Quaker "traveling friend".Her line also includes Rachel Wright who was also noted for her preaching.Father back are the James family with more than one woman who spoke at meeting. When I was a child I got a letter from a cousin named Priscilla who was supposed to be a part of this family. That would have been in the 40's.Do you have any idea who it was?I have been a genealogist for almost 50 years and for the last 30+ have concentrated on BattXn.
