Battey Family Genealogy Forum

Although I am not a Battey descendant, I note with great interest the recent postings on Thomas C. Battey. For several years, I have been editing and transcribing a series of Smith family letters from 1853-1903. My Smith family were Quakers who lived in VT, then to Collins, Erie Co., NY, then to Springdale, IA in 1853.
Chester Battey (as he was known to my family) was a family friend, classmate, and later teacher to several members of the Smith family. His first wife, Lydia Ann Sisson, was a relative through her mother, Hannah D. Strang (NOT Strong as it is often misspelled). Also, Lydia had an older half-sister, Rachel Sisson, who married Nathan Smith.
I am wondering if you Thomas C. Battey researchers/descendants can help me with two items. 1) Did Thomas and Lydia's two daughters, Ruth and Hannah, leave any descendants? And 2) Can anymore give me information regarding Thomas's mother, Ann (Morrison) Battey? The Smiths intermarried on more than one occassion with descendants of Samuel and Rebecca (Boyce) Morrison, Quakers who moved from NH to VT about 1800. I am wondering if Ann (Morrison) Battey is connected to these Morrisons and would not be surprised if the answer were yes.
Thanks for any help! Clarance Smith
