Thomas Erasmus A. born Jan. 30, 1860. He joined the Quakers as an adult. This line hadn't been Friends for some generations. Nancy Ida Stanley born Sept. 24, 1869 Indiannola, Warren Co. IA. Thomas was the son of William Henry Batten born Feb. 5, 1823 Highland Co. OH and Mariah Shoemaker born Apr. 9, 1825 OH. Their marriage date comes from Highland Co. marriage records. They had: James Wesley, Josephus S., Phineas E., Thomas Erasmus A., Wesley, William Ellsworth, Lorenzo Dow.
I don't believe Roy married. He's buriedin Union Cemetery, Hardin Co. IA. I have records that an Orville Batten married three times. I' not sure if all of those are this man. Edmund married twice. Do you have the name of the first wife?
