I am a direct descendant of James William Batley b.12 April 1865, at Milford Place, Burley, District Kirkstall, County York. Parents James Batley and Elizabeth formerly Pratt. Mother apparently died in childbirth. Father's occupation given as model maker. James William appears in the 1881 census as living with his uncle, Jonathon Benson, and family. James William migrated to Australia in 1885. I have complete records for Aust'n line but have been unable to locate any information on parents or possible siblings or whether there is an actual relationship to the Benson family. I would be grateful for any help. Josie Powditch
