Walter B. Bates/Ruby Grace George

I would appreciate any information on Walter B. Bates. He was married in the 1940s to Ruby Grace George. She is buried in Sunrise Memorial Cemetery in Vallejo, California. There are other Bates there, but not Walter B. A notice in the newspaper after Ruby Grace's death, refers to her as Mrs. Walter B. Bates, so feel fairly sure that B. was his middle initial. I have no DOB or DOD for Walter. Judging from Ruby Grace's age, I would assume Walter Bates was born around 1900 - give or take a few years. At the time of Ruby Grace's death, the article said Walter lived in Napa, California. Thanks for any help!
