I assume you are refering to Edward Bate (no "s"), d. 1686, pastor of a Congregational church. Information on this line has been passed down in my family. I have data on at least 9 generations, but only for the compiler's direct ancestors. In other words, no data on siblings.

The compiler appears to have been Albert Harlan Bates, b. 1/24/1869, Cincinnati, Ohio, son of the Rev. Cyrus Stearns Bates and Laverna Sutherland (married, 1/1/1867), at Seven Mile, Butler County, Ohio.

Information includes data on the Standish (Capt. Miles Standish) and Whitman (John Whitman, of Weymouth, MA, d. 1692) families.

If any of this would be useful to you, I will be glad to share it. However, please keep in mind that I do not know how this research was conducted, and I have not personally verified any of it.
