Joe,My grandfather was Jim Bates born in Haynes,Arkansas in
1893 and his mother was named Frances Bates. His Siblings
were Will Bates,Ora Bates,Josie Bates and Johnny Hudson.
He died in 1960 in Chicago,Illinois. My father was James
Bates born in Brickeys,Arkansas in 1925 and his mother was
Rosie Lee Davis, and they both died in Hobbs,New Mexico. Rosie Lee's mother was Anna Harris and that's where the
Native American is the most obvious although I have been
told by other relatives that Jim has Native-American blood
also.So far I have not had any success in finding any
relatives of my grandfather's or grandmother'ssiblings
but I try to keep on just in case I might get lucky. Thank
you very much for your interest! Donna Bates Hornsby!
