new info: George E. Batchelder died in Amesbury, Ma in 1928. In 1925, he dedicated Victoria Batchelder Park in honor of his wife who died in Amesbury, Ma in 1917. During the Civil War, George served in the Forty-Eighth Regiment Massachusetts Volunteer Militia (Infantry). I have a copy of the newspaper article describing the park's dedication ceremony in April, 1925, and an actual photo from that day (including the speech by George Batchelder). I located George and Victoria's headstones in the Mt Prospect Cemetery in Amesbury, Ma. George was a "market farmer". Notify Administrator about this message?
