I must write to apologize to you about this miscommunication. The ring was given to a Kate F.(or E can't remember) Davis who later married a George Washington Batchelder then handed down to Sarah Elsegood Smythe who presented it to me at birth. I believe that is how it goes. I'm very sorry. Even if it was presented to a Batchelder, there were only five sisters. Still
I believe we may be related but farther back. I can't figure out where but there are a few Stephen Batchelders in my line, that are reverends. Mine goes back to a Philip Bachiler of England
