I don't know about the other spellings but I have seen the name spelled BAZE in TX. Too, I have spotted some BASYE (regular spelling) names there as well. We all know how some of the most simple names can be "mangled" especially when the census takers were taking the information. Logically, one would think they reversed the letters from time to time to come out as BASEY. Thanks for responding to my post. I was beginning to think I was the only one who was having problems with the many ways of spelling the name. Too, there doesn't seem to be much activity going on for this name, perhaps because it is a unique name?
