reply to Scott Johnson - I am afraid you may have some wires crossed. I am a direct decendent of Edmund/Edmon Basye and the spelling has never been changed to Bayse in anything I have on the family history, including the Basye cemetary and the town of Basye Virginia where my grandmother Margaret Basye and all the relatives are buried. Let me know how the change came about to Bayse!
