The name Basso is on the list on The name Basso was found in the book, "Sangre Judia por Pere Bonnin. "Los apellidos que siquen estan sacados de las listas de penitenciados por el Santo Oficio de los cesos de las juderias ..."

The Basso family could have come from Italy, but that would be against the trend. Many Sephardim who were expelled went to Italy. I noticed in the forum, that some members of the Basso family are looking for ancestors in Venice. You may recall that many Jews came to Spain as people captured by the Roman legions. They could have come through Italy to Spain.
