My Grandmother was Elsie Basford, her father was John William Basford (born Chesterfield Derbyshire)and he had sisters and brothers, Sarah, Lucy, Mary Ann and Arthur. John William's parents were William Basford born 1845 approx, Upper Broughton, Notts, and Lucy born 1843 approx, Mansfield Woodhouse, Notts.
My Gt.Grandfather John William was a miner in Rawmarsh, South Yorkshire, eventually moving to Pontefract where my Grandmother, Elsie, was born.
