I have primarily been researching the American Bassfords--particularly the descendants of Jacob Bassford who was an early settler of Hampton, NH.However, I have found that some of Jacob's descendants were living in the same area with some other Bassford famileis that I couldn't place. So, I decided to try and piece together what I could of these lines to see if I could figure out where they fit in.I found that they came through a George Bassford who was born in Bramcote, Nottinghamshire in 1828.George emigrated to Canada about 1853, and then to Wisconsin, USA sometime before 1859.I believe he would be the son of William and Frances (Alcock) Bassford of that location.I would be interested to know whether you might have any information that might tie into this family. Now that I have a fairly large database put together with the descendants of George, it would be great to tie in with some of the English Bassfords...
By the way, if you haven't run across it, we have been putting together a website with all of the Basford/Bassford information that we have been gathering.

If you have any information from the English Bassfords, we would be glad to include that information on the site as well.
