Hello. The information I have on Cornelius Bassett: he was the son of Fortunatus and Sarah Bassett. His wife's name was Elizabeth Holland Saywer, born Nov. 13, 1778 in Conn. Their childrens names were: John A., James, and Maria who lived at Gates Mills, Ohio. It also lists a town(?) as Rushville? I think maybe that's where Cornelius lived until his death. On the list of Bassett stones in the French Cemetery, Holbrook Corners near Rushville, is a stone marked "C.B.",and close by, another marked "Pricilla, daughter of C. and E.H. Bassett". They are thinking this could have been a 4th child of theirs. The History of Martha's Vineyard by Banks, gives the entire Bassett family history down through the second Fortunatus, born June 30, 1775 and died Aug. 1819. I hope this will help you in your search.

Natalie
