I have four different Bassett families living in Canton, St. Lawrence County, New York in the 1860 census. None list a Minnie, but she may have been born later in 1860. Also none are from England or Canada. What is your source for parents place of birth?
All four of these Bassett families are Revolutionary War Soldier Rufus Bassett, born in Rochester, NY, served in Vermont, and later moved to Essex County, New York then to the Canton area where he is buried.
