I have two sources on the ancestors of Sarah Bassett - they don't correspond. Both agree that
Sarah was born in 1651 in Lynn MA, married Thomas Elwell 23 Nov 1675 in Gloucester, MA, and died after 26 Apr 1707. Both agree that her father was William but not on when and where he was born. Both agree that he (her father) was married to Sarah Burt (her mother) in 1646. Beyond that, one source list Williams father as John, born 17 May 1589 in Heyshott, England, married to Margery - the other list his father as Roger, born about 1599 in Dorking, England, married to Ann Holland. One source list the father of John as Robert, born about 1560 in Sussex, England - the other source dosen't list Williams grandfather. Both sources list the parents of Sarah Burt as Hugh, born 1599 in England and Ursella, born 1603 in Lynn, MA. If anyone can provide info that will solve this mystery I would be eternally grateful.
