Bassetts: George and Harriett (DeGrummond) Bassett lived in Detroit in the second half of the 1800s. Harriett was born in 1832 or so, and married and had children 1852-61. Their children: Martha J. (m.Buddington), Georgianna (m.Anderson), Jessie A., William D., Julia (m.Harper).
Harriett died in 1913 in Detroit. Of George I am not certain. He was born in Michigan about 1830 (according to his children on the census) and he seems to disappear from Detroit around 1870. Harriett is listed as widow in the phone directories. But I am not sure how or where he died.
I hope to find out the origins of George and his parents and their parents if possible.
Of course any information or connections to other Bassett families or the other surnames listed would be much appreciated.
