Elias Bassett, b 16 Feb 1800 at Stephentown, Rensselaer Co., NY married Matilda Salter, daughter of John and Phebe Salter, born 1800 in Ontario Co., NY. Children were born in Orleans, Monroe and Allegheny Counties, NY. Elias died in 1869 in Ogden, Weber Co., UT.

Who can tell me who Elias' parents were? I know about his children, especially son Charles Henry Bassett who was a Mormon pioneer in Salt Lake City, UT.

Some say Oliver Bassett and Betsey ? were Elias' parents. But does anyone have proof? - If you are researching this family I would like to hear from you.
