Joanna Bassett married Searing Tompkins 13 Mar 1843 at the Bedford St
Methodist Church New York City. I believe she is the mother
of Sarah Jane Tompkins b 1850 and listed in IGI with the above Searing and
Mrs Searing Tompkins. Found the marriage in New York City Methodist Marriages
1785-1893 Vol 2 Index of Grooms page 648. Referenced to LDS Film # 17780 pg 22
