I descend from Sarah Bassett whose father is possible Ollie A. Bassett. Sarah Bassett married Daniel Jones and their daughter Ollie Bassett Jones married Samuel Smith. Ollie and Samuel's son was Daniel Jones Smith who married Martha Ann Thomas Ragsdale. Daniel and Martha moved from Williamson County to Humphreys County, TN. They are suppose to be buried at the Owens/Mayberry Cemetery. Daniel and Martha's son was Wallace/Wallis Dickson Smith who married Nancy Catherine Owens (parent's Smallwood and Mary Penn Owens). Wallace and Nancy had several children with only two living to adulthood. My great grandmother Eliza Jane Smith and her sister Tera Ann Smith. Eliza married Henry Edward Heathington and Tera married Junius Marion Futrell who became the Governor of Arkansas in the early 1930's serving two terms. The Ragsdale family descends from Henry Ragsdale and Elizabeth Ogelthrope. Elizabeth's brother was the Bishope of Carlisle, Owen Oglethrope, who crowned Queen Elizabeth the 1st. The Owens family descends from Fulk the 1st Count of Anjour and the Penn family claims cousinship with William Penn the founder and John Penn the signer of the Declaration of Independence. Would like to find out more about the ancestry of the Bassett family if anyone knows how my Bassett's would connect to someone's family tree.
