As for the husband of Mary Burnet Bassett, he was the son of William H. Bassett, but little is known of his family. DNA test results from his line do not match any other Bassetts in the world as of now.

Mary Burnet Bassett, daughter of George Washington and Betty Burnet (Lewis) Bassett, was born 12 Aug 1834 in Fredericksburg, Virginia. She died 16 Jul 1873? She married Benjamin Harrison Bassett on 20 Dec 1860 in Clover Lea, Hanover County, Virginia. He was born 24 Feb 1831 in Coutreville?, Louisiana. They removed to Texas. The records of the children are from a family bible, a copy of which can be found at the state archives in Richmond, Virignia. The bible is hard to read, so the names and dates of the children are sketchy at this time. Benjamin Harrison Bassett has not been found in the Virginia records, but is probably a cousin of some sort to Mary. The children were born in Brenham, Washington County, Texas. The bible was in possession of Mrs. Donald Kilger of Dallas, Texas when filmed by the state archives in Richmond. She was a granddaughter of Ben H. and Mary B. Bassett.

Walden who died 19 Oct 1963 in Dallas County, Texas. They had
Walden Bassett.

Texas, married Blanche Haller and had Kathryn Bassett of Temple,
Texas.
59B48. Mary Burnett Bassett - born 29 xxx 1879 in Washington County,
Texas, married the Hon. John Watson. They had Gladys Hope Watson
who married Donald G. Kilgore Jr., Benjamin Bassett Watson, Paul L.
Watson, Maidie Burnet Watson who married John R. Baldwin, John B.
Watson, and Lilla Graham Bassett Watson.
59B49. Lila Graham Bassett - born 22 Oct 1881, died 21 Aug 1932 in Dallas
County, Texas. She willed her estate equally 1/4 to each of her
four sisters.

Benjamin H. Bassett
Judge Benjamin H. Bassett, of Brenham, Washington County was a member of the law firm of Sayles & Bassett. He married Mary Burnet, who was born in 1839 and died Nov. 10, 1881. He and his wife are buried in Prairie Lea Cemetery at Brenham.
