Hi Ronald.
I too am a descendent of this family of Bassetts, my 8 times great grandmother being Anne, the daughter of Michael Bassett, and born in 1637 at Chiddinstone. She married Richard Leggatt around 1691 or 92, but I haven't yet found the marriage. They had children initially at Penshurst, then moved to Richmond, Surrey.
I see that you have Ann Killick as Michael's wife, and wondered where you found this, and when and where the marriage took place. I haven't yet had time to look at the parish register for Chiddinstone, having just discovered this connection, but Chiddingsrone is in the IGI, and I can't find Michael's baptism or marriage there.
I also wondered if you could tell me more about Michael's parents, Thomas and Catherine, and how you found them.
I am delighted to have found a family member at last!
