In reading your response to Don Matson on May 03, 1998, I ??"think"??? I have an ancestor/relative, William Henry Bassett, b. 10/24/1796, d.________ 1872, Grand Coteau, La., m. 01/22/1822, Washington, D.C., Eleanor O'Neill, d. 10/09/1852, Bayou des Glaise, Avoyelles Parish, La., but as you say with so many Williams and Thomass, I am lost as to where to his place in this particular Bassett line. Could you help me out, please? Does he in fact belong in this Bassett line and if not could you suggest places for me to go? I work at Washington and Lee University and have limited access and time, for that matter, to W&L's rare book collections, but if I knew in which direction to go, I'm sure I could find what I'm looking for. Thanks so much.
