Here is what I have on that family. I am pretty sure I know the parents of John Bassett, just have found no proof so far.

109B. John Bassett and Family

John Bassett was living in Wayne County, New York in 1830 and 1840. The following are most likely children of John Bassett.
In the history "Rose, Wayne County, New York" A.S. Roe, (1893) p.277 referes to the "old John Bassett house". On p.293, John Bassett is noted to be a member of the Methodist Church". On page 78, Sophia Bassett "brought up by Mrs. Aaron Shepard", is noted to have married Daniel Lovejoy.

Among the other prominent settlers who came in that and succedding years were John Bassett (1815).

Persons buried in Rose Cemetery on Route 414 between Rose and North Rose, based on list in "Rose Neighborhood Sketches" (1893) by A.S. Roe.
