I would like to know if anyone can connect Horace Bassett to the line William Bassett of the Fortune, 1621 who was my 10th ggrandfather. Horace was born in Champlain, NY and was married to Melvina ________ of Mooers, NY. They had at least one daughter named Laura born in Wilbraham, MA on 1 Oct 1890. These are about the only clues I have. They come from Laura's birth record. Also, Mooers (or Mooers Junction) is approximately 8 miles from Champlain in upstate New York, near the Canadian border.
This could be an instance whereby an old friend of mine may, in fact, turn out to be a cousin, a distant one, but a cousin, nonetheless!
