Based on printed research I have had in my posession for years, Cecilia Leght was William Bassett's first wife, (not mother). He reportedly had two wives in England, prior to marrying Elizabeth in the Colonies. They were: Ms Leght, (I have her first name as Gelilea), followed by Margaret Oldham. Both, reportedly died before William left England. I wonder if you could provide some context for the "Cecilia" link, to see who may have the more accurate account.
