Some help, please, placing these Bassett's in the Bassett lines. Recently in Ashfield, Massachusetts, I came across the graves of Lot Bassett b Abt. 1755 d 23 July 1835, his wife Deborah b Abt. 1762 d 6 June 1846 and a few of their children: Deborah b Abt 1784 d 30 Jan 1806 Polly b Abt 1786 Mesha b 1791 d 23 April 1815 Abigail b 27 May 1799 d 5 May 1881 Samuel b 26 July 1802 d 11 April 1876 Lot b 13 March 1805 d 15 March 1881 Lot's grave is marked: "A soldier of the revolution and one of the first settlers of Ashfield" His wife, Deborah's grave is marked: "Mother of ten children who all lived to arrive at the age of manhood seven of whom survived their parents" "Miss Deborah" and "Miss Polly" seemed to be buried together as they share a common stone and it is marked: "In memory of Miss Deborah and Miss Polly Bassett the amiable daughters of Mr Lot and Mrs Deborah Bassett. Polly died January 6th in the 20th year of her age and Deborah died January 30th 1806 in the 22nd year of her age Deborah survived her sister 24 days only" I have digital photos of these grave stones. If anyone is interested, please contact me directly. Any assistance in linking this line to my Bassetts would be appreciated. I descend from William (Fortune 1621) through Hazel, my grandmother, Edward (1856-1940), Ralph (1823-1861), Ephraim Lane Bassett (1779-1867), William (1749/50-1838), William (1726-1776), William (1693/94-1783), William (1667-1734), Joseph (1635-1712) and William (Abt 1590-1667). This is to the best of my knowledge, at least. Thanks Notify Administrator about this message?
