Hello
I have a huge interest in your line of Bassets. I come from the area around where your family originated. Because of the influence they had on this area and because my dad was a miner I have tried to find out as much as i can on them. Ihave fond some intesting things out about them at the local Records office and I have a copy of the visitations of Cornwall that traces the family back to the 11th century if you are interesed. Have you ever been to Cornwall? If not you really must there are loads of buildings associated with the Bassets, street names, pubs and there is even a small castle at Carn Brea. The castle is near to where I live. A local author (considered by many to be an expert on the family) wrote an extremely interesting book called "Tehidy and the Bassets". The author is Micheal Tangye. It is available over the internet. Please can you tell me what happened to the family after they left Tehidy Mansion. I know that Arthur and his family moved to Henley Manor in Crewkerne Somerset, but I have never been able to find out anymore, especially about his daughter, Patience. I don't have time now to tell you anymore but please contact me again.
