Greetings Rodger,
I was reviewing the Family Tree Site, and notice one of your inquiries. My maiden name is Kim Eubanks. However, my great grandfather Hartwell, mostly know as Hart Eubanks married a gal name Eliza Hudson. Her mother was Mary Hudson who was listed as mulatto in the VA census (married to Edmond Hudson). Eliza is listed with her family there too in the 1870 Mecklenburg VA census (Flat Creek District). She was born in 1854. Mary's mother was Sally Cole (Sally mom was Fanny slave also on the Baskerville Plantation, perhaps Fanny was once owned by the Coles??), and Mary's father was one of the Baskerville Plantation owners in Mecklenburg Va. I have him listed as a Charles Baskerville, but have not been able to verify information that has been handed down to me by a cousin that went to Mecklenburg VA and conducted family research. I have many relatives from Mecklenburgh VA who have the following last names: Eubank, Eubanks, Hudson, Boyds, Harris, and Baskerville's. Two of Mary's (my ggg grandmother )cousin's are Britton and Briton Baskerville (father and son). Briton Baskerville can be found in the Virginia Almanac as a Black Educator and Scholar who was also into politics.
The Baskerville I have listed in my tree are:
Beberd, Bernice, Britton, Briton and BIII (father and son and grandson), Buddy, Carrie Loretta, Catherine, (3) Charles, Elaine, Ethyl Sally, Gazelle, Hattie Grace and John, and Buddy, (2) Mary's, Muriel, Nannie, and Robert, Samuel, Solomon, Velia, Vonuse, William, William Henry, and William Hudson Baskerville. One of my father's cousin's lives in NJ. Her name is Barbara Delaney/Baskerville and is a decendent from Briton.

I've been stuck trying to also find info on Hart Eubanks. His parents are listed on Eliza Hudson Eubanks and Harts marriage license. I got a copy from the Virginia Records. They were married Jan 14, 1874. Hart's parents are listed as Mary and Charles Eubanks. That's as far back as I can go. Hope of the Baskerville info was some help to you. A Ms. Melody Leocky was helpful to me a few years. She provided some information. Her ancestors owned the Baskerville Plantation.
