Hi Janice, The very first thing to do is talk to your family members,if you can. Get as much info. Dates, and Places. Then try the S.S.INDEX If there was a S.S. # given, you can write for copies. That could give Parents,Location of Birth and Dates. Then try the County Seat and Census Records. I don't have much on the Basil's yet. all I have is my Grandmother was born a Basil, on a farm in Hardin County Ohio. Her father was Henry Basil. But I haven't gotten any farther since I am working on Three names at once. If I make any connection I'll E-MAIL you GOOD LUCK HUNTING Bob :-)
