Starting Sept. 5, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum
message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles
will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will
no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.
Sharon, the John (R.) Bashaw you and Susan have had an exchange about is one and the same person. John Bashaw was the son of James Bryant & Rachel Bashaw. John was born in about 1840, married first 23 Apr 1863 to Thilda (Matilda?) Wilson. He was a soldier during the War between the States...(he later drew a pension in Indian Territory (present day Oklahoma). After the war he moved south and married a second time to Susan's line. He was a Methodist Preacher...made several records in Indian Territory. Apparently his first wife, Matilda, married a second time on 7 June 1868 to Samuel Durant.
Susan, if you are reading this, you really need to copy this information down. That way, you will stop asking the same question over and over....and being told the same thing about your John Bashaw. Get your cousin to copy my Bashaw book for you, if you can not afford one of your own. It is copyrighted and not to be copied unless I give permission. Nelda Lewis is a good friend of mine...you will remember she has the Bashaws on her own website. It has many, many errors. This is one reason the errors get copied over and over. Any new data, or corrections, I send free as an update to the ones who have a copy of my book.
Hope I have helped even a little bit,
