I think that Gabriel was the brother of Peter Bashaw. I have info showing that Peter Bashaw was a Civil War Vet but he enlisted under the name "David Bashaw" could be because he was under age. He enlisted on 10 Feb 1862. He was married to Mellissa (spelling ?)

They had a child named Sarah who married; Washington Columbus Cross. ect.

Any one got more info than this?
