This is an addition to my first reply which might help in deciding where Thomas Howard Barton was born. I show his father to be Benjamin Franklin Barton, born 1760 in Fauquier, Virginia and died February 16, 1818 in Pickens, South Carolina. He married Dorcas Anderson, born in Stafford Virginia and died September 6, 1849 in Pickens. South Carolina. I show Benjamin Franklin Barton's father to be Thomas Barton, born 1732 in Prince William, Virginia. He married Sarah Wilson.
