Hi Tim,

Is that the Max Bartoe, son of David Bartoe (d.1922)? If so, my g-grandmother was Max's sister, Ellen. I just phoned my mother to see if she'd ever heard of "grandma boy blue" but she hadn't. What does it mean, or to whom does it refer?

I'm also in CA, but was able to make it to Nelsonville for a reunion last summer. Didn't find very much on the Bartoe side while I was there; maybe this year.

I see you're looking for answers, what are your Qs? Maybe I can help. I've been able to find some info on David's wife, Mary Ellen Bryan, if you're interested.

Where in CA are you? I'm in San Diego.
