I have been reading the Canada "Bartley" entries to see if my William & Mary who arrived at an eastern port with 7 yr. old son, George, about 1836 migrated to that area of Canada. They arrived from the Isle of Wight with William's shoe cobbler tools I assume to join relatives/friends. Ten years later they were living near Marshall, Michigan when George married Catherine Hartwell and they moved to Bates County, Missouri about 1850. My grandmother, Edith O. Bartley was born there near Butler, MO. and married Henry A. Reed. Col. Bartley has been very helpful with information, but I haven't found a real link with the Canada "Bartleys". Thanks for any information. Robert Reed
