William Bartley & wife Sarah Horsey were my 5 great grandparents. My line is 1. Wm/Sarah, 2. Isaac/Tabitha, 3. Jesse/Jemima, 4. Permelia/Elcanah Hill, 5. Elvira Hill/Rome Willis, 6. Minnie Willis/G.W. Sluss, 7. Alene Sluss/J.D. Mullins, 8. ME. Sarah's surname comes from a declaration made by Isaac Bartley in Russell Co. VA in 1857 in which he claimed his father William served as a soldier in the REV. War, and had married Sarah Horsey in either Guilford or Orange Co. NC in 1770/1771. I believe that Sarah is a daughter of an Isaac Horsey of Chatham Co. NC and also found in Wake Co. NC. I have much info on this family--but much more research is needed. Hope this helps.
