I am in a desparate search for any information on my grandfather, Arthur William Bartley. I never knew him, and am finding very limited information, if any, on him. According to my mom's birth certificate (issued in Norfolk, Va.), he was born in New Jersey, but that might not be correct. My grandmother was born in 1896, and we figure he was about the same age as her.Her name was Irma Christine Dante.Then, after my mom was born, my g-grandmother, Sarah belle Dante adopted her, and her name (my mom's)became Jeanne Gifford Dante. I guess from stories, my grandmother Married him, but separated from him after she was pregnant with my mother. I know he was in the military, and I know they never divorced, because she collected his pention til the day she died. We also believe he died quite young. Any information on him, or someone you think might be him, would be helpful.Who knows...we might be able to provide someone else with their missing link to us!
