Seeking information on the family and ancestry of Eliza BARTLEY (b. ca. 1810 in Mississippi) who m1. William C. GRIFFIN on 10 Jul 1823 in St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana & had issue; Eliza m2. Alfred LaCROIX.
A daughter of Eliza BARTLEY & William C. GRIFFIN was Elizabeth GRIFFIN who m. a RUSHING (RUSHEN). They had issue: Lavinia RUSHING & Martha RUSHING. Elizabeth & her husband must have predeceased her parents as the girls were raised by Eliza BARTLEY GRIFFIN. The daughters were known by the surname GRIFFIN until they married, at which time the marriage license reflected their legal surname, RUSHEN (believed to be a variation of RUSHING).
Any information at all would be greatly appreciated. I am happy to share whatever information I have collected and would be pleased to have a “cousin” to work with on this family. I wish all a very happy, healthy, and prosperous new year.
