Bartley, Thomas 1850 Co. Monaghan Irelan
This is not my line but just ran across it. In 1850 Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan , Ireland, a Thomas BARTLEY was a Tea, Wine, and Spirit merchant. Also Leather Dealer, he was paid to provide shoes for Irish emigrants of the great famine there. Also sold barrels to emgirants for holding meal.It does not say if he ever emigrated himself. But there were hundreds in the area that did emigrate to NY, Quebec, and Australia, among other destinations. That's all the information I have.
