Dave, You are right. After I posted I thought, "Should have worded that differently". I was thinking of the several clusters of Bartleys in the early years of this country. The Pa/Md, Va, SC clusters that later expanded into the Ohio valley, Kentucky and Ga, respectively. I see you are from the Pa cluster. Not likely to get hints from our SC cluster and in that is the problem I was voicing. I think we Southeast'ers are the fewest in number of ancesters and researchers! Info is scarce, it seems. My Bartleys are from Edgefield, SC. I would like any info on Bartleys from anywhere in the Southeast. Maybe by spreading it out I can narrow it in. Hey, who knows, maybe it will work. I guess this is a good way to voice our frustrations. I've been at at a Bartley "wall" for 13 years now.
