Hi, I am not sure if the William S Bartley in my database is yours, but it is a possible match.
He was born abt 1862 in Tennessee. I only have him as a child on a census. His parents were William S Bartley and Feriba. This William S. died early and Feriba remarried T. W. LEWIS in 1870.

The parents of this William S Bartley were Samuel BARTLEY (b. abt 1780 NC) and Mary WHINERY (b. abt 1792 NC) - married 1809 Orange co, NC. The Bartley family moved from NC to Tennessee by 1830. I am descended from their daughter Savilla E BARTLEY who married Elias Greenville CLAYTON. The Clayton family moved from Tennessee to TX after 1880.
